SAINT LEO, Fla. - The No. 3/4 Florida Southern men's golf team finishes in first place at the Saint Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Saint Leo, Fla. Florida Southern led the field with a three-round score of 839 (-25) while Max Barile led the Mocs with a three-round score of 205 (-11).
After being tied for the field lead after day one, Barile was the individual runner-up of the Saint Leo Invitational, shooting an 11-under 205 in the tournament. All three of his rounds were under par, as he closed out round two with a 68 before shooting a 69 in the final round. Barile carded five birdies in the final round for his first top-five finish of the season.
Colton Swartz also placed in the top-10, with a three-round score of 210 (-6). Swartz carded seven birdies in the final round, shooting 69. He placed tied-10th.
Donte Groppuso, Anthony Monteleone, and Jaylen Abbas rounded out the Moccasin lineup, finishing tied-14th, tied-29th, and tied-42nd, respectively.
Chris Pollak competed as an individual and placed tied-25th. All three of Pollak's rounds were at or under par, with scores of 71-72-71. He finished with a 2-under 214.
The Moccasins claimed the team title, with a three-round score of 839 (-25). Nino Palmquist (USF) claimed the individual title with a three-round score of 202 (-14).
UP NEXT
The Moccasins will have a week off before traveling to Boulder City, Nev. to compete in the National Championship Preview on March 1-3 at the Boulder Creek Golf Course.
