SPARKS, Md. - The IWLCA Players of the Week have been announced, with Florida Southern women's lacrosse's Jenna Vetter being named National Offensive Player of the Week for Division II.
Jenna Vetter was named IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week after receiving SSC Offensive Player of the Week honors yesterday. Vetter's contributions were an instrumental part of the #2/#2 Mocs' 2-0 week to open their conference slate.
The Mocs defeated #11/#13 Saint Leo in a double overtime thriller on Wednesday, 15-14, before defeating #8/#11 Lynn for the second time this season 10-6. In the week's opener, Vetter scored a career-high nine goals, tying the program record for goals in a single game set by Haley Daleo in 2022. Vetter was instrumental in the Mocs clawing back at multiple leads by the Lions, including the game-tying goal to send the game to overtime.
Against Lynn, Vetter was once again the Mocs' leading goal scorer, with three goals and one assist. Her stat line for the week was 12 goals, 1 assist, 15 SOG, and 2 groundballs.
This is the first IWLCA weekly honor for Vetter. She is the second Moccasin to receive IWLCA weekly honors this season, as Kolby Cohen was named Defensive Player of the Week on February 17th. The last Moccasin to be named an IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week was Jackie Stoller on February 20th, 2024.
