How They Got Here

#2 Florida Southern
The Moccasins posted a 15-1 overall record on the season, with their lone loss coming to (then) No. 5 Flagler 13-7 on February 26th. The Saints then moved up to first and have held the top spot in the national rankings ever since. Since then, Florida Southern enters postseason play on an 11-game win streak, with a perfect 7-0 run in SSC play.

Florida Southern has posted four SSC Player of the Week honors, with Brayden Cannelli earning the final Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday. Jenna Vetter, Kolby Cohen, and Charlie Laye also SSC weekly honors, while Vetter and Cohen were both named IWLCA Player's of the Week once this season.

The Mocs average just over 13 goals per game, primarily led by junior attacker Vetter with 51 goals so far. Lindsey Tolliver and Louise Aloi have been welcome additions to the Moccasin offense with 21 and 19 goals, respectively, while returner Hanna Watson has hit her stride in SSC play with 20 goals this season. Eight Mocs are in double-digit scoring figures, while five sit with double-digit assists. Watson, Cohen, and freshman Riley Rivera lead the assists department, each with 15.

In addition to her offensive contributions, Cohen has been dominating on the draw with a team-leading 107 draw controls. Freshman Leanna Rivera has also seen some time at the draw, with 50 draw controls so far in her rookie campaign. On the circle, Brayden and Audrey Cannelli have been a dynamic duo, combining for an additional 76 draw controls.

The Moccasins have a lockdown defensive unit led by a core group of seven players with double-digit caused turnovers. Audrey Cannelli leads the squad with 31, while graduate student Charlie Laye has posted a career-high 25. Laye leads the squad in the ground balls department with 29, reaching 100 in her career in the Mocs' most recent game against Palm Beach Atlantic. Florida Southern has versatility in net with Rebekah Bargeron and Annesley Flint splitting time. Bargeron boasts a 9-0 record with a 47.0% save percentage and a 7.60 goals against average, while the freshman Flint holds a 5-1 record and a 33.7% save percentage.
