NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The IWLCA announced its All-Region selections Wednesday afternoon, with six Florida Southern Women's Lacrosse Players receiving IWLCA All-South Region honors. Brayden Cannelli, Kolby Cohen, Charlie Laye and Jenna Vetter were named to the first team, while Audrey Cannelli and Julia Lucas were named to the second team.
Cohen receives first-team honors after being the team's most versatile midfielder. The junior has recorded 117 draw controls, while adding 35 points on 20 goals and 15 assists. She also contributes on the defensive end with 15 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Cohen was named the SSC Draw Specialist of the year, accompanying her first team All-SSC honors. In postseason play, Cohen was named the Most Outstanding Player of the SSC Tournament and was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Vetter leads the Moccasin squad in both points and goals with 68 and 58, respectively. The junior eclipsed her 100th career goal this season against PBA on April 15th, bringing her career total to 110. Vetter also tied the program record for goals in a game with nine against Saint Leo on March 25th. So far this season, Vetter has been named a USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-American, All-Sunshine State Conference First Team, SSC Offensive Player of the Week, and IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week following the nine-goal performance.
Brayden Cannelli and Laye have been leaders on the Moccasin defense this season, combining for 57 caused turnovers. The duo ranks top three on the squad in caused turnovers; Laye with 30, and Brayden Cannelli with 27. They also lead the team in ground balls, with Laye picking up 37 and Brayden 36. Laye was named a USA Lacrosse Magazine second-team All-American yesterday. Laye and Brayden Cannelli both earned first-team All-SSC honors, along with SSC Player of the Week honors once this season. They were also named to the SSC All-Tournament team.
Audrey Cannelli and Julia Lucas were named to the All-South Region second team. Cannelli was named a USA Lacrosse magazine first team All-American yesterday, and both received All-SSC Honors (Cannelli first team, and Lucas second team). Cannelli and Lucas are both top contributors to the Moccasin defense, with Cannelli causing a team-leading 40 turnovers and picked up 31 ground balls. Lucas picked up 30 ground balls and caused 27 turnovers.
#2/#2 Florida Southern will host #1/#1 Flagler College in the NCAA quarterfinals on Friday, May 15, with an 11 a.m. start at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. The winner of the NCAA DII Quarterfinal game earns a bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse National Semifinals hosted at Judson Stadium in Rochester, New York, on May 21st, with the National Championship slotted for May 23rd.
The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division II with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2026. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the Division II 2026 All-American teams on May 20.
