The second-ranked Florida Southern College Moccasins will face off against the #1 team in the nation in the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship Quarterfinal on Friday, as the Mocs host the top-ranked Flagler College Saints at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale, Fla.

#2/#2 Florida Southern earned the one-seed in a stacked South Regional tournament. As one of the top two seeds in the region, the Mocs earned the right to host and a first-round bye. Florida Southern hosted fourth-seeded Tampa and fifth-seeded Embry-Riddle in a first-round matchup last Thursday, where the Spartans defeated the Eagles 17-10 to advance to the second round. The Mocs then faced the Spartans in the Second round, where Kolby Cohen scored the golden goal in overtime to advance the Mocs to the quarterfinal round.
Flagler arrives to Auburndale by way of their side of the South Region bracket, where they hosted third-seed Saint Leo, and sixth-seed Young Harris on Thursday. The Lions in their first NCAA tournament appearance, defeated the Mountain Lions of Young Harris 19-11 to advance to the second round game against the Saints. The Lions and Saints faced each other on Friday, with the Saints advancing by a score of 16-10.
Friday's quarterfinal game marks the second meeting between the Moccasins and Saints in this 2026 season. Florida Southern suffered their lone loss of the 2026 season to Flagler in February, when the then #1 Mocs were upset 13-7 by the Saints. Flagler then claimed the top spot in Division II rankings and has remained there since, heading into the quarterfinal matchup with a pristine 20-0 record. The two teams have faced in the NCAA tournament twice before, with the Mocs holding the 2-0 favor.
Jenna Vetter has been the dominant force for the Mocs' offense all season long, leading in points and goals with 58 and 68 respectively. Grace Curtin has been finding her stride in postseason play, with three goals in the second round game against Tampa. Eight Mocs have double-digit caused turnovers, with Audrey Cannelli leading the way with 40. Cannelli was named a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American this week, and tabbed to the IWLCA All-South region team.
A trio of players lead a fiery Saints offense, that has outscored opponents 383 to 128 this season. Jessica Wright, Carley Tepel, and Ava Lambros each have 50+ goals this season, with Wright tallying a staggering 63. Maddy Hartstock and Molly Sloan have each contributed 18 caused turnovers for the Saints while Dakota Capolino has been the mainstay between the pipes, with a 20-0 record and 53.6% save percentage.
