ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Florida Southern College women's lacrosse team received five All-Tournament team selections in the NCAA DII Championship and received the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Jenna Vetter, Audrey Cannelli, Riley Rivera, Brayden Cannelli, and Kolby Cohen were all named to the All-Tournament team, while Cohen was named the Most Outstanding Player.
Florida Southern defeated Pace in the National Semifinals 12-5, before defeating Maryville in the championship 9-7 to receive their second NCAA DII crown, 10 years after their first in 2016.
Kolby Cohen was dominant in both games for Florida Southern, putting up six draw controls in each of the two games in Rochester. The junior added two goals and one assist in the championship game against Maryville, including scoring the goal that proved to be the game-winner.
Jenna Vetter and Riley Rivera were a pair of key contributors to the Mocs' offense in the final stretch. Vetter opened the weekend with a seven-point performance against Pace, scoring four goals and adding three assists. She contributed another goal to cap off the season at 67 in the championship game against Maryville. Rivera added four goals and two assists on the weekend, with three goals in the semifinal against Pace. The freshman ended her rookie campaign with 21 goals and 23 assists.
Sisters Audrey and Brayden Cannelli once again proved to be a dynamic duo, culminating in the Mocs' defensive dominance that led them to another ring. Audrey picked up five caused turnovers, four ground balls, one draw control, and one assist on the weekend. Brayden complemented with six draw controls, three caused turnovers, and four ground balls.
