ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced Florida Southern College women's golfer Ava La Belle as the first SSC Golfer of the Week of the 2026-27 season. 

The Webster, N.Y. native La Belle earned SSC weekly honors after a top-five finish at the SSC Warm Up at the Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla. The senior placed third, with a 7-over two-round score of 148. 

La Belle shot a 4-over 76 in the opening round with one birdie, before improving to a 3-over 75 in the final round. She placed ahead of both Palm Beach Atlantic and Bethune-Cookman's entire lineups. The only two players to finish ahead of La Belle were from the host school, Seminole State College (which also won the team title). 

Florida Southern finished second of five teams, beating out fellow SSC school Palm Beach Atlantic and Division I school Bethune-Cookman. 

This is La Belle's first SSC Weekly Award of her career, after earning All-SSC third team recognition last season.
