TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 21 Florida Southern College men's cross country team finished second among 23 teams at Friday morning's Florida State Pre-Regional Meet at Apalachee Regional Park.
The Moccasins, the top NCAA Division II team, placed second overall with 97 points, behind the host, Florida State University, with 26 points. Florida Gulf Coast was third with 109 points, followed by Embry-Riddle (121 points), Tampa (127 points), Stetson (170 points, UAH (184 points), Miami (239 points), Palm Beach Atlantic (279 points), and USF (308 points).
Cole Summers finished sixth overall in the 8K with a time of 24:43.0 and a 4:58.3 average mile.
Michael Toppi placed seventh in 24:43.6, averaging 4:58.4 per mile.
Eli Zuppa added a ninth-place finish in 24:46.8 with a 4:59.1 average mile.
Outside of the top 10 overall finishers, the Mocs had solid finishes from
