PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The No. 1 Florida Southern College men's golf team opened the National Preview in 1st place, with an 18-under score of 558 at PGA National Resort on Monday afternoon. 
 
Freshman Davis Daigle currently leads the field after firing off an 8-under 64 in round two, for a two-round score of 136. The rookie leads all players in both par 4s, averaging 3.70 strokes, and birdies with 13 on the day. Daigle opened up the day with an even round of 72, carding four birdies. Daigle began to heat up in round two, carding nine birdies and just one bogey. The freshman carded 6 birdies straight on holes 15-18, continuing on to holes 1 and two, before finishing the round par birdie for a career-low round of 64. 
 
Colton Swartz kicked off his senior season with a 7-under two-round score of 137, sitting one stroke off Daigle and in sole possession of second after day one. Swartz opened the day with a 4-under round of 68, sitting tied for the lead through the first 18. He carded five birdies in both rounds one and two. Swartz continued to hold the lead throughout the second round, posting a 3-under 69, before Daigle birdied his last hole of the day to move into the top spot. Swartz ranks second in the field in par 4s, averaging 3.75 strokes. 
 
Jack VanderSchuur trails closely behind Daigle and Swartz, sitting tied-4th after two rounds. The sophomore opened the day with a bogey-free round, carding four birdies, and sharing the lead with Swartz at 4-under through the opening 18. In round two, VanderSchuur carded three more birdies and an eagle on hole 6 to finish the round with a 71. VanderSchuur holds a 5-under two-round score of 139 heading into the final round. 
 
Liam Fernandez makes his collegiate debut as an individual and sits tied-7th through two rounds of play. Fernandez opened the day with an even round of 72, before he finished the second round 2-under par. The freshman carded seven birdies on the day and ranks tied-3rd in the field in pars with 25.
 
Logan Leistner, in his Moccasin debut, and Anthony Monteleone round out the Moccasin lineup tied-26th and tied-30th, respectively. The transfer Leistner, shot a 2-over 74 in round one and followed up with a 3-over 75 in round two for a 5-over two-round score of 149. He carded seven birdies through the first 36 holes. 
 
Monteleone finished the day with a 7-over 151. After shooting 7-over in the opening round, the sophomore recovered to shoot an even 72 in round two. Monteleone carded 7 birdies on the day. 
 
Nova Southeastern and Georgia Southwestern trailed closely behind the Mocs after round one, but Florida Southern pulled away with a heavy lead after round two. With the Mocs team shooting 12-under in the second round, they sit comfortably at 18-under heading into the final round on Tuesday. Davis Daigle holds a one-stroke lead on Colton Swartz for the top individual spot of the tournament heading into the final round.
