Daemen Secures Hard-Fought Victory Over Lenoir-Rhyne

LAKELAND, Fla. — Daemen edged past Lenoir-Rhyne 75-69 at Jenkins Field House on Sunday, securing the win with 16 steals and strong defensive play.

The game began with Daemen’s Benjamin Bill scoring a layup just 16 seconds in, setting the tone for a competitive first half. Lenoir-Rhyne's Conrad Luczynski responded swiftly with a dunk off an assist from Julian Dozier, tying the score. Daemen's Justin Glover and Jaiden Harrison each hit pivotal 3-pointers, contributing to a narrow lead midway through the half. However, Lenoir-Rhyne closed the half strong, with Keyishon Miller's fast-break layup in the final minute giving them a 36-35 edge at halftime.

In a tightly contested second half, Daemen pulled away from Lenoir-Rhyne, securing a 75-69 victory. Ryan Heath's fast-break layups and quick steals were pivotal, contributing to a surge that saw Daemen regain and extend their lead. Bill added significant inside presence with crucial layups and a late dunk, while Justin Hemphill's consistent support on both ends helped maintain momentum. Despite Lenoir-Rhyne's Luczynski and Dozier's efforts to close the gap, Daemen's strategic defense and timely free throws ensured the win.

In their next game, Daemen will host Alaska Anchorage on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. at their home venue in Lakeland, Florida.
