Daemen Dominates Alaska Anchorage with Explosive First Half in 96-62 Victory

LAKELAND, Fla. — Daemen defeated Alas. Anchorage 96-62 at Jenkins Field House on Sunday, fueled by a 68-point first half that established a commanding lead.

Daemen dominated the first half with a powerful offensive performance, building a 68-25 lead over Alaska Anchorage. Benjamin Bill's early tip-ins set the tone, and Justin Glover's consecutive three-pointers extended their advantage. Zach Philipkoski contributed significantly with two three-pointers, the second at 12:09, assisted by Jaiden Harrison. The Wildcats' defense also stood strong, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities to maintain their commanding lead.

In the second half, Daemen maintained a solid lead despite a scoring surge from Alaska Anchorage. Ryan Heath opened the half with a layup, assisted by Glover, to extend the Wildcats' lead. John McFadden responded for Alaska Anchorage with multiple successful plays, including a layup at 17:02 and a pair of free throws, narrowing the gap. However, Daemen's consistent shooting, highlighted by a three-pointer from Heath at 6:22 and a layup by Jackson Kulik at 1:26, kept them in control. Alaska Anchorage's late efforts included a fast-break dunk by Akok Machar, but Daemen finished the half ahead, 96-62.

Heath recorded 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting and added four rebounds with three steals. Bill posted a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 16 rebounds, including nine offensive boards. Glover contributed 11 points and dished out a team-high five assists while also making three 3-pointers. Ronnie Williams chipped in 13 points, hitting three of his five attempts from beyond the arc.

Machar led Alaska Anchorage with 12 points, connecting on 50% of his field goals and adding four rebounds and two steals. Hasaan Herrington also contributed 12 points, hitting 55.6% of his shots, including one 3-pointer. Bishop Tosi added eight points and provided defensive support with two blocks and one steal. McFadden was efficient, scoring 10 points on 66.7% shooting and grabbing three rebounds.
