2014 SEASON:  HONORS - SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll ... appeared in eight games, made six starts ... went 1-0 with a 4.39 ERA ... pitched 26.2 innings and finished with 19 strikeouts and 19 walks ... was one of seven Moccasin pitchers to throw over 20 innings on the season ... made first FSC start at Florida Tech (2/4) ... in that start, threw a season-high six innings and allowed three hits and no runs, while walking two and striking out four ... had four games of pitching four or more innings ... picked up his only win in a pre-determined two-inning start against Warner (4/23) ... struck out a season high five batters against Winona State (3/11) and recorded two or more strikeouts in five of his eight outings ... opposing hitters batted just .206 against Popovich ... averaged 6.41 strikeouts per nine innings and allowed right-handers to hit just .205 on the year.

PRIOR TO FSC: Played one season (2013) at the College of Marin for Coach Steve Berringer ... in his one season with the Mariners, he threw a total of 26 innings and limited hitters to a .267 batting average ... recorded a 3-0 record and a 3.12 ERA ... began his collegiate career at the University of San Francisco, where he redshirted during the 2012 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: 2011 graduate of San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, Calif. ... was a two-year varsity player at San Ramon Valley ... as a senior, he posted a 2.10 ERA and helped lead the team to an East Bay Athletic League Championship ... led the league in appearances and saves as a junior and finished with a 1.67 ERA.

PERSONAL: Son of Laurie and Dan Popovich ... majoring in criminology ... has a brother, Jordan (22) ... this past summer, Popovich played for the Boca Raton Lightning of the South Florida Collegiate League ... on the summer, he made five starts and posted a 1-1 record and a 2.52 ERA ... led the league in innings pitched (26) and ERA (2.52) and he recorded 23 strikeouts and walked just nine and allowed just 17 hits ... earned First-Team All-League honors and was the starting pitcher in the league's All-Star Game ... lists hunting, fishing and cooking as his hobbies ... would like to join the FBI or the DEA and work on behavior analysis ... born 11/21/92.
