Originally from Salinas, Puerto Rico... Comes from a family that includes parents Eric Cartagena and Evelyn Gierbolini, and siblings Marco, 12, and Israel, 17... Chose Florida Southern College based on the recommendation of an old coach who spoke highly of the institution and its relationship with Coach O’Dette... Enjoys playing pickleball outside of athletics... A fan of the New York Yankees and admires former MLB player Mariano Rivera... Has a cousin, Camila, who also attends Florida Southern...
