Donay joined the Florida Southern College baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2025, primarily assisting the developmental baseball team’s pitching staff.
 
Prior to joining Florida Southern as his first coaching position, Donay spent four seasons as a right-handed pitcher at fellow SSC school, Embry-Riddle. Over his career, he had 42 appearances and 17 starts for nearly 100 innings on the mound. He had a career 78 strikeouts for the Eagles, tallying four wins.
 
Donay is a Lakeland native, graduating with honors from Lakeland Christian, and helping the team win the 2019 state championship. He was majoring in Engineering Physics while at ERAU.
