Tony Cecil joined Florida Southern College as an assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2022. Her sport assignments include men's basketball, beach volleyball, cheer, and JV Baseball. Â

After moving to Florida from Arkansas in 2020, Cecil began her career as an intern athletic trainer at Webber International University, primarily working with their football & bowling teams. In 2021, she was promoted to assistant athletic trainer & continued to work with their football team & began working with their softball team. During her time with Webber softball, the team won the Sun Conference Tournament & NAIA Regional Tournament, & made it to the NAIA World Series, where they finished #10 in the NAIA Post-Season Top 25.

Cecil earned her master’s degree in Athletic Training from Arkansas State University in August 2020. She was apart of the first cohort for the master’s program at the university. During her graduate program, Cecil spent her time with a variety of D1 sports, including volleyball, football, basketball, & baseball. Toni received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in August 2017 from Arkansas State University.

Cecil has been a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) since 2020. She is a licensed athletic trainer by the Florida Board of Athletic Training and is nationally certified through the BOC.
Cecil was born & raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Her & her parents moved to Jonesboro, AR when she was 10 years old, where she spent the majority of her life before moving to Florida. She currently resides in Lakeland with her boyfriend, Sean, who is an athletic trainer for the Detroit Tigers.
