As a freshman (2017)… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Started all but one of Florida Southern’s 14 games (Sept. 25 vs. Florida National)… Goals against average of 0.92 is third lowest in team history and made him just the third starting goalkeeper in the program’s 61-year history to finish a season under 1.00… GAA ranked third in the SSC… Save percentage of .800 is fifth in team history and ranked third in the SSC… Also ranked fourth in the SSC with 48 saves… Allowed more than one goal only once (2-1 loss at Florida Tech on Oct. 4), and had two shutouts… Made a career-high nine saves in 1-0 overtime loss at Barry (Oct. 25)… Had three other conferences games with at least five.

Prior to Florida Southern… 2015 graduate of Theodor Heuss Gymnasium in Dinslaken, Germany… Won two state championships with his club, during the 2011-12 and 2015-16 seasons… Named to all-star state teams six times in his career, selected the “Best Goalkeeper” five times in various international tournaments and earned an invitation to showcase for Germany’s youth national teams… Personal… Son of Peter and Milena Berger… Has one younger sister (Sibel)… Favorite team is FC Schalke 04.
