Returning 3-year starter on the back line who enters 2016 having started the last 38 games in which he has played, either at outside back or as a midfielder (missed four games at the end of 2014 due to injury)… His 39 career games and 38 starts are the most among current Florida Southern players, and along with twin brother Edward will be one of only two 4-year letterman on this year’s roster.
As a junior (2016)… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award Winner… Academic All-District Team… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Florida Southern Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award winner for men’s soccer, an honor he shared with his brother… One of three Moccasins to start all 14 games (eight as a midfielder, six as a defender) but the only one who was not a senior… Led all field players in minutes played with 1,258, which was second on the team to goalkeeper Cole Clingerman who played all 1,284… While playing center back in the season opener, was part of a defense that limited Warner to only three shots in a 5-0 win (Sept. 4)… Also played center back in a 1-0 win over Nova Southeastern (Sept. 14)… Helped the Mocs turn in a 1.61 goals against average, their lowest in six years.
As a sophomore (2015)… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award Winner… Academic All-District Team… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Started all 14 games, and was one of six players on the team to do so… Registered his first career goal when he curled in a corner kick in the 39th minute that beat Tampa 1-0 (Sept. 30)… Also made a critical blocked shot inside the box during that game before the Mocs had a chance to score… Assisted goals in back-to-back conference wins over Rollins (Oct. 7) and Lynn (Oct. 10), with his assist against Lynn setting up his twin brother Edward on a corner kick that gave the Mocs another 1-0 victory… That marked the second time the two brothers combined for a goal in their college careers… In his combined role as a defender and midfielder, helped the Moccasins post four shutouts, including three in conference play… Averaged 87 minutes per match.
As a freshman (2014)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… After coming off the bench in the season opener, started the next 10 on the defensive line before missing the final four games due to injury… Helped the Mocs limit Alabama-Huntsville to only nine shots in his first career start… Assisted his brother Edward for the Mocs’ first goal of the season in 3-0 win over Webber International (Sept. 6)… Averaged 79 minutes per match.
Prior to Florida Southern… 2014 graduate of Grillska Gymnasiet… Played at the Division I level in Sweden for BK Forward, and began his soccer career with IKF Mora, and helped that club win the U-17 district championship in 2010… Played for IKF Mora for 11 years… Won the junior district title with BK Forward in 2012, and the U-21 league with Forward in 2013… Played with BK Forward and coach Magnus Kihlberg for three years… Connected to Florida Southern through former Moccasin All-SSC defender Emil Kumlin.
