Biography

One of only two 4-year lettermen on this year’s team along with his twin brother Carl… Comes into the 2017 season having played in 38 career games, starting 22 of them and providing Florida Southern with seven goals and four assists during that time… Seven goals and 18 points are the most among active Moccasins, and 38 games is second to Carl Spansk.

As a junior (2016)… NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award Winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Florida Southern Athletic Director’s Scholar-Athlete Award winner for men’s soccer, an honor he shared with his brother… Missed the first five games of the season before coming back to play in the final nine games with four starts… Assisted what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 68th minute of 4-3 win over Rollins (Oct. 5)… Assisted the game-tying goal in the 66th minute against Barry, though the Buccaneers ended up taking a 3-2 win (Oct. 29)… Averaged 43 minutes per match… First or second reserve into the match in three of his five games in that role.

As a sophomore (2015)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Tied for second on the team in goals and shots… Started the first seven games before coming off the bench for the final seven… Was the first reserve into the match in six of those seven games as a reserve and both of his goals were scored in that role… Scored his first goal late in the first half against Lynn, giving the Mocs a 1-0 victory (Oct. 10)… That corner kick goal was assisted by his twin brother Carl, marking the second time they had combined for a goal in their college careers… Also scored for the Mocs in their 2-2 tie at Florida Tech (Oct. 17)… Averaged 49 minutes per match overall, and still nearly 45 minutes as a reserve.

As a freshman (2014)… SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… One of seven Moccasins who saw action in all 15 games, and one of only four who return in 2015… Team leader in goals (5) and points (12), marking the second year in a row the Mocs’ leading scorer was a freshman… Third in the SSC among freshmen with 12 points… Notched his first goal in his Florida Southern debut by giving the Mocs a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute of a 3-0 win over Warner (Sept. 6)… His five goals for the season came in five different games, including back-to-back SSC games against Eckerd (Oct. 7) and eventual national champion Lynn (Oct. 11)… Also scored against Tampa and Palm Beach Atlantic… In the Mocs’ four games against nationally ranked teams, scored two goals with one assist… Averaged 58 minutes per match with a high of 105 in 2-2 tie with Tampa (Oct. 15).

Prior to Florida Southern… After 2014 graduate of Grillska Gymnasiet… Played at the academy level in Sweden, and began his soccer career with IKF Mora, and helped that club win the U-17 district championship in 2010… Played for IKF Mora for 11 years… Won the junior district title with BK Forward in 2012, and the U-21 league with Forward in 2013… Played with BK Forward and coach Magnus Kihlberg for three years… Connected to Florida Southern through former Moccasin All-SSC defender Emil Kumlin.
