Lexi Carver

Lexi Carver was named an assistant coach for the Florida Southern College softball team in August 2026 as part of the first season under head coach Brittany Johnson.

Carver joins the program after her most recent stint at Saint Leo. During her two full seasons spent with the Lions, Carver played a vital role in securing a National Championship in 2026 while also making it to the NCAA South Regionals in 2025. She, along with the rest of the Saint Leo staff, was named the ATEC/NFCA DII National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2026 while also being tabbed as the South Region Coaching Staff of the Year the season prior. While on staff, Carver helped the Lions to a 94-17-1 record while helping to coach twelve All-Region and All-SSC players, along with the 2026 SSC Freshman of the Year.

Before her first coaching position at Saint Leo, Carver finished her collegiate playing career at Bowling Green State after transferring from Louisville in 2021. While at BGSU, she was named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-MAC Team member, playing in 26 games with 25 starts, primarily at first base. She posted a .208 batting average, .391 on-base percentage and a .992 fielding percentage with just one error in 132 chances. While her 2023 campaign was cut short due to an injury, she played in 50 games in 2022, splitting her time between second base and catcher, whilst hitting .225. She excelled defensively with a .976 fielding percentage and was a key contributor to the Falcons' 34-win campaign.

Starting her collegiate career at Louisville, injuries limited her to playing just five games as a freshman, but she made major impacts off the diamond. Carver was named an ACC Academic Honor Roll member and was recognized as an NFCA/Easton Scholar-Athlete in both 2020 and 2021.

Since 2016, Lexi has worked as a Softball Hitting & Defense Instructor in Spencer, Indiana, coaching youth athletes and organizing clinics. Her professional experience includes internships in athletic department management and game day operations, where she handled logistics, social media, and event management. In addition to her coaching experience, Lexi has interned at Rossford Jr./Sr. High School where she worked closely with the Athletic Director in managing event logistics, leading a leadership program for team captains, and handling administrative tasks. Additionally, her internship with Terre Haute Rex Baseball further diversified her skill set, where she contributed to game day operations, social media management, and gained hands-on experience in sports event management.
