2015 (Junior): NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… 2014 (Sophomore): NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Begins her senior season having started all but one game over the last three seasons (143 of a possible 144)… Believed to be the first player in team history to start games at six different defensive positions and as the designated player… Has started games everywhere but pitcher, first base, and shortstop (44 at catcher, 43 at third, 31 in center, 19 in right, two in left, two at second, two as the DP)… Other than the game she missed at Eckerd on Feb. 27, 2015, has played all but 1.2 innings throughout her college career.
Junior season highlights (2015)
- Started 50 of a possible 51 games and played four different defensive positions… Made 30 starts in center, nine at third, six behind the plate and five in right… Hit in the top third of the lineup in all 50 games (seven as the Mocs’ leadoff batter, 21 in the second slot, and 22 in the third)
- Finished third on the team with a .306 batting average… Fourth in hits (49), and reached base safely a team-high 67 times overall when adding in walks and HBP’s… Second on the team with 24 runs scored, just one behind regular leadoff hitter Gianni Artidiello… Also second in RBI (19)… Tied for the team lead in walks (17) along with Jessica Lanci… Also tops among Moccasins in stolen bases (8-for-9)
- Had 12 multi-hit games with a season-high three in the second game of the doubleheader against Warner (April 7)… Now has six 3-hit games in her career
- Hit .293 in conference play (22-for-75) which ranked third on the team and had a .357 on-base percentage that was second
- Had a career-high four RBI in 6-4 win over Nova Southeastern (April 11)
- Had two different 9-game hitting streaks, including one to start the season… Hit .382 (13-for-34) in the second one which included a doubleheader at Barry, and non-conference doubleheaders against nationally-ranked opponents LIU-Post and Caldwell
- Best conference series came against Lynn when she went 5-for-12 (.417) with two doubles, a home run and four RBI, and had a .500 OBP
- Hit her first career home run in the series finale against Lynn, a solo home run leading off the bottom of the fifth inning that sparked a late comeback from a 6-2 deficit as the Mocs eventually won 7-6 (March 14)… Also drove in the go-ahead run with a fielder’s choice ground out in the bottom of the sixth inning in that game
- Hit her second home run in a 6-4 win over Nova Southeastern, a 3-run shot in the bottom of the first inning (April 11)
- Committed only two errors on the season while moving between four different positions (one at third base and one in right field)… Had a .971 fielding percentage in 35 chances at third (by comparison, Nikki Henderson had a school record .963 at that position in 2007)… Led the team with three outfield assists and had a .976 fielding percentage in the outfield (one error in 42 chances)
Sophomore season highlights (2014)
- Started all 44 games while playing five different defensive positions… Made 34 starts at third base (a position she had never previously played), four in right field, two in left field, and two at second base, in addition to starting two games as the designated player… Also saw action in five games as a catcher… Saw most of her time in the batting order as the Mocs’ leadoff hitter (34 games)
- Tied for the team lead with 21 runs scored and two triples, and was second in hits (43) and stolen bases (7)
- Second on the team with 12 multi-hit games, and was also second with four 3-hit games… Had two of her 3-hit games in both games of a doubleheader against Dominican, NY (March 5)… Her other 3-hit games came on consecutive days against Concordia-St. Paul (March 14) and Ohio Dominican (March 15)
- Her .390 batting average with runners in scoring position (16-for-41) was second on the team to Jessica Lanci… Had a .700 percentage in driving in runners from third with less than two out, which was tied with Lanci for the best on the team… 5-for-11 with the bases loaded, making her 8-for-19 (.421) in her career
- Hit .348 (32-for-92) in the month of March, the best average on the team
- Had a .370 batting average (10-for-27) in the seventh inning or extra innings
- Sparked the Mocs’ 7th-inning rally against #9 Barry with a leadoff single that turned into the tying run in a 5-4 victory (March 1)
- Scored the only run as the Mocs’ only base runner in their 1-0 win over #8 Wayne State (MI), reaching on a leadoff error in the top of the first inning (March 15)
- Helped set up the winning run in two extra-inning games in a doubleheader at Florida Tech, one with a sacrifice bunt in the 10th inning of a 2-1 victory, and the other by reaching on an error in the 14th inning of a 4-2 win (March 30)
- Played a role in yet another extra-inning win by the Moccasins when she reached on an error leading off the 15th inning and came around to score for a 5-4 Florida Southern victory over Eckerd (April 25)… Ended that series with a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh, which lifted the Mocs to a season-ending 2-1 win over the Tritons (April 26)
Freshman season highlights (2013)
- One of seven Moccasins who started all 49 games, and one of two freshmen (high school teammate Leah Pemberton was the other)… Was also one of four Moccasins who played every inning, with Pemberton, Christie Bailey, and Gianni Artidiello the others… Hit leadoff in 22 games, #5 in 19 games and #6 in her other eight starts
- Third on the team with 14 RBI and tied for third with her 16 walks… Second on the team with 22 runs scored
- Ended the season by hitting .318 (7-for-22) with a .444 on-base percentage over the final eight games, which included conference series against top-25 teams Rollins and Saint Leo
- Lost four hits the second half of the year due to spectacular defensive plays by the opposition
- Saw her average jump to .263 with runners in scoring position, and was second on the team with her .293 batting average with two out… Went 3-for-8 with the bases loaded (.375), the best average on the team
- Had five multi-hit games, including 3-hit games vs. Southeastern (Feb. 22) and vs. Wilmington (Feb. 27)
- Recorded her season-high of three RBI in the Mocs’ 8-0 win over Palm Beach Atlantic (April 10)
- In four games against Palm Beach Atlantic, went 6-for-12 (.500) with two doubles and five RBI
- Had three strong games against Flagler as well, going 2-for-7 with five walks, two RBI and five runs scored
- First career RBI came in the bottom of the ninth inning against UNC-Pembroke when she tied the game on a sacrifice fly
- Drove in one run and set up the winning run with a sacrifice bunt in a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Nova Southeastern (April 13)
- Threw out 11-of-42 runners attempting to steal, but was 10-for-28 over the final month of the season (36 percent)… Also picked off a base runner against Tampa on March 29… Had a .976 fielding percentage as a catcher (141 putouts, 20 assists, 4 errors)
- Ranked second in the SSC overall in percentage of runners caught stealing for those catcher with at least 20 attempts (26.2 percent), trailing only Lynn’s Devin Kochergen by 0.2 percent
In high school… 4-year starter at Bloomingdale High School where she played three seasons for coach Mike Clamon, and her senior year for Melissa Gentile before graduating in 2012… 3-time All-State selection and was also First Team All-Hillsborough County three times while hitting .438 in her high school career… Second Team 6A All-State and first team all-county as a senior when she hit .513 with a .533 on-base percentage, 10 doubles, one home run and 12 RBI… Hit .455 as a junior with a .510 on-base percentage, five doubles, two home runs, 28 RBI, and 20 steals while making Third Team 6A All-State and first team all-county… Began her high school career by posting a .459 batting average as a freshman with a .518 on-base percentage, driving in 18 runs and stealing 10 bases when she was Second Team 5A All-State… As a sophomore, hit .316 with 14 RBI… National Honor Society member… Played travel ball for the Florida Fire from 2006-12, where she was coached by Mark Braddy… Also played for Team Florida in 2009, and the Florida Gold in 2010… Personal… Daughter of Lawrence and Nancy Alexander… Has one older brother (Jeffrey-28) and one older sister (Lauren-23)… Had a cousin (Andrew Almansberger), who played men’s lacrosse at Florida Southern before graduating in 2012… High school teammate of another Moccasin senior, Leah Pemberton… Spent time as a volunteer at a local animal shelter… Born 4/29/94… Advertising and Public Relations major.
