Biography

One of Florida Southern’s four returning pitchers, having made 39 appearances and 24 starts in her first two seasons… A senior academically who will graduate this spring.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018)
HONORS: NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… One of three Moccasin pitchers with at least 20 appearances (23) and led the team with 18 starts in the circle… Second on the team with seven wins, three complete games, and 95.0 innings pitched… Involved in a team-high five shutouts, one of them a complete game no-hitter against Wheeling Jesuit in which the Mocs won 1-0 (Feb. 27)… Struck out six and walked two in that game and retired 19 in a row after a leadoff walk in the top of the first inning… That no-hitter was the first thrown by any pitcher at Chris Bellotto Field… Had starting assignments against USC-Aiken (Feb. 8), Tampa (Feb. 17), Eckerd (Feb. 23) and Ursuline (March 13) that resulted in shutouts, though she received no-decisions against Tampa and Eckerd… Had six no-decisions overall, but Florida Southern won all six of those games, and the Mocs were 12-6 in her starts overall… Did not allow more than one run in five straight starts from Feb. 7-27 with a 0.59 ERA covering 35.1 innings during that time… Had one of Florida Southern’s two wins over a nationally ranked team (Kristen Beacham had the other) when she went 6.2 innings and allowed two runs on eight hits with one strikeout and two walks in a 4-2 win over #15 West Florida (April. 24)… Picked up her two saves by pitching 3.0 scoreless innings in a 6-1 win over Eckerd (Feb. 24), and by tossing 2.0 scoreless innings of a 1-0 win over Hillsdale (March 7)… Matched her career-high of six strikeouts on two occasions, first in a 5-0 win at USC-Aiken in 5.1 innings (Feb. 8), and again in her no-hitter against Wheeling Jesuit… Had four putouts, 12 assists, and two errors in the field.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017)
HONORS: NCAA Division II Academic Achievement Award winner… Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Second on the team in appearances (16) to Brandi Jones who made 22… Second on the team in relief appearances (10) to Hannah Loyer who made 11… Finished in a 3-way tie for the team lead with five wins… Ranked sixth in the SSC in opponents’ batting average among qualifiers with at least 1.0 inning pitched per games played by team (.237)… Ranked seventh in the SSC in strikeouts per seven innings (4.47)… Earned the win in her first college start by pitching 4.1 scoreless innings in a 3-1 non-conference victory over Eckerd (Feb. 4)… Pitched a complete game 4-hit shutout in her next start to beat Georgia Southwestern 8-0, striking out six, walking three (Feb. 10)… Followed that with back-to-back wins in relief against Eckerd and Lynn, pitching a total of 5.0 innings in those two games while giving up one run on three hits (Feb. 18 and 24)… Fifth win was a 5-inning complete game 10-2 victory over Claflin (March 8) when she allowed just one earned run… Tossed 6.0 scoreless innings of relief in a game against Nova Southeastern in which she allowed just one hit, no walks and three strikeouts (April 22)… Pitched 8.2 innings of scoreless relief in the series against Nova, giving up only two hits with no walks and four strikeouts… Led the Moccasins with a 0.38 ERA in the month of February while appearing in five games with 18.1 innings, and again in the month of April at 1.02 in five appearances covering 13.2 innings… Season high of six strikeouts came in the 8-0 win over Georgia Southwestern (Feb. 10)... Did not commit an error in 13 fielding opportunities.

In high school… 2016 graduate of Manatee High School where she played for Emily Foy and Dan Schaffer… Team captain as a senior… Threw her first career no-hitter as a freshman against Port Charlotte High School and a perfect game as a junior against Southeast High School… Member of the National Honor Society and dual-enrolled at the State College of Florida… Graduated in the top 3% of her class and won the “White M” given for academic excellence all four years… Played travel ball for the Sarasota Heat where she was coached by Tony Cummins and helped them qualify for nationals as a team captain… Personal… Daughter of Ray and Jill Gault… Has two brothers (Ray Jr. and Alex)… Father played college and pro baseball in the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs systems, and her oldest brother Ray Jr. played football at Jacksonville University… Mentions the Tampa Bay Rays as her favorite pro team… Will graduate this spring before pursuing her MBA.
