2015 (Sophomore at Johnson County CC): Second Team All-East Jayhawk Conference and Second Team All-District… Member of the NJCAA Division II All-Tournament Team at the National Finals… NJCAA Academic Award… 2014 (Freshman at Johnson County CC): NJCAA Academic Award.
One of six junior college transfers joining the Moccasins this season... 2-year starter at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas where she played for head coach Aubree Brattin and led them to a 70-23 record from 2014-15… Compiled a career record of 33-8 in the pitcher’s circle with a 1.70 ERA… Struck out 135 batters in 267.0 innings pitched… In a part-time role as a batter, had 13 of her 32 career hits go for extra bases (six doubles, three triples, and four home runs)… Hit .258 overall in her junior college career, but .312 as a more regular hitter in her sophomore season when she drove in 26 runs while still splitting time between the pitcher’s circle and middle infield.
In junior college (2014-15)… Served as the Cavaliers’ top pitcher her sophomore season at Johnson County Community College when she helped them go 37-15… Put together a 23-5 individual record with a 1.92 ERA, 91 strikeouts and 63 walks in 171.0 innings… Ranked #6 in the country for NJCAA Division II in wins (23)… Completed 22 of her 27 starts that year with eight shutouts, and led the Cavaliers to the Region VI title and a third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament… Tossed a 1-hit shutout in the opener of the regional tournament and later hit a late-inning 2-run homer in another game that sent the Cavaliers to the regional championship game… Went 3-1 at the national finals, including a 1-0 win over Kirkwood, after going 2-0 in the regional tournament, and had a 1.50 ERA in the postseason… Also had a .273 batting average with two home runs and four RBI during the two postseason tournaments… Pitched back-to-back no-hitters against Mineral Area and North Iowa Area on March 7 and 9… Had a .312 batting average (29-for-93) as a sophomore with four doubles, three triples, four home runs and 26 RBI… Tied for the team lead in home runs despite being ninth on the team in at-bats… Helped the Cavaliers go 33-8 in her freshman year when she was 10-3 with a 1.31 ERA, 44 strikeouts and 29 walks in 96.0 innings… Ranked #13 in the country for NJCAA Division II in ERA.
In high school… 2013 graduate and 4-time all-conference selection at Missouri’s Carl Junction High School where she played under head coach Jonathon Wengert… 3-time all-district and all-region for the Bulldogs, helping them win three conference and two district championships… Big 8 Conference Player-of-the-Year as a sophomore and junior… Also played basketball at Carl Junction and was a 4-time all-conference selection in track… Made the All-State team as a junior in track as well, and made the all-district team four times, and all-region team twice, in that sport… Academic All-State all four years of her high school career… Played her travel ball with the Intensity from the U8 level all the way through U18, and was coached by her father with that team… Won state championship in 2012 and took second place in the world series in Tulsa… Personal… Daughter of Ronnie and Angie Koch… Has two older sisters (Maddy and Whitney)… Lists the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs as her favorite teams… Born 6/10/95… Sports Management major.
