Vernisha Andrews joined Florida Southern women's basketball staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the 2021-22 season and was promoted to full-time assistant coach in January 2023.
June 2023 Andrews was named to the #52 WeCoach Academy Class and earned the Impact Award. Andrews earned the Impact Award because she leads by example with an elevated, selfless commitment to the encouragement of others' success and an unwavering dedication to their own personal and professional achievement.
 A native of Altamonte Springs FL, Andrews played for Lake Mary High School before attending Rollins College. A 2019 graduate of Rollins College, Andrews played all four years for the Tars and earned a degree in communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in business management. During the 2019-2020 season, Andrews traveled overseas to Ireland to play professionally, while also working toward a Master of Science degree in global brand management from Griffith College in Dublin. Andrews found her way back to the SSC after spending the previous seasons as an assistant coach at Hillsborough Community College.
