Cristina Coca rejoins the Florida Southern Coaching staff from the fall of 2018. She is a native of Riverview, Florida.
She was a four-year starter as a goalkeeper at the collegiate Division II level. She played her freshman year at Saint Leo University in 2009 where she started in 14 matches that season. Coca finished third in the Sunshine State Conference that year in Saves per Game and lead the SLU squad to an NCAA tournament appearance.
Coca finished her collegiate playing career at Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida where she was a three-year starter and two-year captain. While at Flagler she recorded 13 total shutouts and was named Peach Belt Conference Goalkeeper of the week twice. During her junior season, she went a consecutive 381:10 minutes without conceding a goal. Cristina graduated with a BA in Communication with a focus on Strategic Communication and Public Relations.
During her playing career, Coca played two seasons within the WPSL for the Clearwater Galactics and West Florida Flames.
In 2013, Cristina became a graduate assistant coach with the Delta State University Women’s Soccer program while completing her Masters Degree in Human Performance Education and Recreation with a focus in Sport Management and Administration. She was at DSU until January 2015.
Coca is currently the Director of Competitions at the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) governed under US Youth Soccer (USYS). She was previously a League Director within US Club Soccer for the Florida Club League. Cristina is a USSF C Licensed Coach and holds her United Soccer Coaches Level I GK Diploma.
