Navas joined the Florida Southern College Coaching staff in the spring of 2020. He is a native of New Port Richey, Florida.
Prior to FSC, he worked with Saint Leo University (2018-2019) as well as Webber International University (2017-2018). Currently, he works for Clearwater Chargers Soccer Club (2017-Present) as a coach. Prior to that he had coached the girls' and boys' programs at West Florida Flames. With the West Florida Flames, Navas was a part of the ECNL program, helping coach one of the youngest groups in the pre-ECNL, the U13 girls. During his time, he was the head coach for the West Florida Flames U16 girls, U13 boys, and U10 girls Academy.
He has worked with goalies of many ages and at various levels. Navas has also been an Assistant Coach for both the boy's and girl’s varsity soccer teams at River Ridge High School. During this time both teams made regional appearances.
His youth playing experience in Florida began with West Pasco and the Clearwater Chargers. He was a four-year varsity soccer player, earned Tampa Tribune and All-Suncoast Honors, played for the Chargers DA system, and was an alternate on the 96 ODP National Champion team. Navas also played in an all-star match against Liverpool Youth Academy and has attended US National Team training camps. Due to health reasons, his playing career was cut short.
He attended USF St. Petersburg online completing his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice in 2019.
Navas is a USSF licensed coach and is in the process of obtaining his C license. He has many diplomas through the United Soccer Coaches which include: Goalkeeping 1 & 2 and many more. He hopes to bring all his knowledge to his current position at Florida Southern.
