Katherine Malik joined the Florida Southern College athletic training staff in fall 2019 and is primarily responsible for women's soccer, baseball, and equestrian.
Malik came to Florida Southern after spending nearly 10 years at the University of Tennessee at Martin with a year at the West Tennessee Healthcare Sports Plus Rehab center working with Gibson County High School athletic teams. While at UT-Martin, Malik was the primary athletic trainer for women's soccer, softball and was previously assigned to women's basketball and men's basketball. In addition to athletic training for her sports, Malik was the primary coordinator for coverage and care of the remaining Olympic sports under the head athletic trainer. Also during her time, Malik helped coordinate sports medicine coverage and staff for several Ohio Valley Conference tournaments and became an approved Clinical Preceptor for Union University ATEP.
Prior to UT-Martin, Malik was the assistant athletic trainer at Birmingham Southern College from July 2007-August 2008. At Birmingham Southern, Malik was directly responsible for women's soccer, women's basketball, volleyball, and softball, while assisting with football.
While completing her degree at the University of Central Florida, Malik was a graduate assistant certified athletic trainer for the Knights and assigned to the women's soccer program for two years. As an athletic training student, Malik spent time at the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Florida.
Malik graduated with her Bachelor of Science - Exercise & Sport Sciences at the University of Florida in 2004 and completed her Masters of Arts in Physical Education at UCF.
Malik holds certifications as NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer, American Heart Association Instructor, and affiliation with the State of Florida and National Athletic Trainers' Association.
An Orlando, Florida native, Malik is married to Tyson Malik and they share two sons, Ryne and Jaxon.
