Nova Southeastern jumped out to an 11-0 lead to start the match, but could not sustain its momentum beyond the first set, as the Moccasins rallied to win, 15-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22, Friday night at Jenkins Field House.
The win keeps the Moccasins (23-7, 10-3) in a first-place tie with Tampa, as the Spartans downed Rollins in three sets Friday night. Nova Southeastern fell to 20-9, 9-5 SSC with the loss.
Danielle Durham, Danielle Higginbotham and Julia Borecka each had 11 kills to pace the Moccasins. Durham also picked 12 digs to register her 13th double of the season and the 48th of her career.
Courtney Johnson led the defensive effort with 21 digs, while Anna Greenwood collected 14 digs and matched her career high in blocks with five. Stephanie Goldstein recorded her career high in aces with three in the win.
