Braxton Chisholm and Will Cherry each clubbed two-run homers to power Florida Southern to a 8-2 win over Palm Beach Atlantic in game two of a Saturday doubleheader to complete a three-game sweep of the Sailfish.
Chisholm smacked his first round-tripper of the season with one out and Cherry aboard in the second inning. After the Moccasins, 6-3, added a solo run in the third on singles by Trae Gore and Nick Stanley, Florida Southern batted around in the fifth, scoring five runs on five hits. Zach Maggard had a two-run double in the frame while Cherry capped the scoring with his second home run of the year with Maggard aboard.
Gore, Cherry, and Chisholm each had a pair of hits as the Mocs won their fifth in a row.
Daniel Tillman worked 3-2/3 innings of relief, blanking the Sailfish on just one hit while striking out four to even his record at 1-1 on the year.
Taylor McBath took the loss for Palm Beach Atlantic to fall to 0-2.
