Facing a lineup that featured five nationally-ranked singles players and two nationally-ranked doubles teams, the Moccasins fell to No. 4 Lynn 8-1 Saturday at the FSC courts.
The win was the Knights' sixth straight this season without a loss and their second in Sunshine State Conference action. The Moccasins fell to 6-2 overall, 2-2 in the SSC.
Ironically, the highest-ranked Lynn player was the Knights' only non-winner in the match, as the Moccasins' Senka Softic, who is ranked 17th, defeated sixth-ranked Eleonora Iannozzi in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6, for her eighth straight win without a loss at No. 1 singles this season.
The Moccasins play their third straight match against a nationally-ranked team when they take on No. 9 California (Pa.) Sunday at 10 a.m. at the FSC courts. Monday the Moccasins play Lake Superior State at 10 a.m. at the FSC courts.
