Even though an injury cut short Will Cherry's final season as a Moccasin, that didn't prevent him from earning recognition for his work in the classroom.
Cherry is a first-team selection on the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District College Division Baseball Team. He has a 3.44 GPA and is majoring in criminology. His name now will be on the ballot for the College Division Academic All-America Baseball Team.
Cherry's season ended Apr. 18 when he suffered a knee injury in a game at Lynn. At the time of his injury, he was batting .370 with 15 home runs and 43 RBI. His home run total still leads the team.
