COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Division I Maryland scored the game's first six points and except for a 15-15 tie at the 13:32 mark in the first half, never looked back in coasting to a 106-58 exhibition win over the Moccasins here Monday night.
From that 15-15 tie, the Terrapins outscored the Moccasins 45-13 for a 60-28 halftime advantage and then tacked on a 20-7 run in the first five minutes of the second half to build the margin to 80-35.
Terry Jenkins was the game's leading scorer with 19 points, including four three-pointers and Preston Fredrick added 12 for the Moccasins. Maryland had four players in double figures, led by Jordan Williams' 18 points. Sean Mosley scored 16, while Adrian Bowie and Cliff Tucker each tossed in 15.
Maryland limited the Moccasins to a 34.3 field goal percentage, out-rebounded FSC 55-33 and forced 23 Moccasin turnovers. The Terrapins shot 56 percent from the field.
Rion Rayfield, the Moccasins' top returning scorer, did not play because of an injury.
The Moccasins play their final exhibition game Monday at 7:30 p.m. against the Miami Hurricanes in Coral Gables.
