The Miami Hurricanes used a 32-14 run to close out the first half and downed the Moccasins 90-65 in their exhibition game at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables Monday night.
The Moccasins were up 17-13 with 11:05 left in the first half after a Rion Rayfield three-pionter. Rayfield, who had not played in either of FSC's first two exhibition games due to a foot injury, played 18 minutes off the bench Monday night and scored eight points.
From that point, however, Miami outscored the Moccasins 32-14, led 45-31 at halftime and kept the lead in double digits throughout the second half.
Terry Jenkins led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers, and pulled down six rebounds. Damon Ellison added 10 points. Miami was led by Durand Scott and Adrian Thomas, who each scored 14 points, and Malcolm Grant, who added 13.
The Moccasins officially open their 2010-11 season Friday afternoon in Valdosta, Ga., against Ala.-Huntsville.
