The Moccasins ran into a strong Barry team that is ranked #2 in Division II and suffered their first loss of the season Thursday at Miami Shores, 7-2.
FSC got an 8-4 win from the #1 doubles team of Michael Knoedler and Roman Schirmaier, but Barry claimed the other two doubles matches by scores of 8-6 and 8-5. Schirmaier, ranked 39th in singles, gave the Moccasins their only singles win with a 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2) decision over 15th-ranked Ales Svigelj at #2.
The Buccaneers, with four singles players nationally ranked, improved to 3-0. The 13th-ranked Moccasins are 3-1 and play Friday at #3 Lynn in Boca Raton.
