LAKELAND, Fla. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released the 2026 Division II Women's All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes, with several from Florida Southern College represented.

As a team, the women's and men's tennis programs were awarded All-Academic honors, with several individuals named Scholar Athletes. Representing the women's team are
Annika Berrendorf, Elona Simonov, Elin Axler, Kennedi Brown, Josie Holderbach, Emily Jennewein, Elena Samuelsson, Ronja Scheuermann, and
Diana Volkov. On the men's team,
Gabriel Jornert, Youssef Elshafei, Mario Garoz, Jaden Thompson, George Russell, Leon Bircanin, Antonio Correia, Yeray Quian Darriba, Wiley Simpson, Mario Antonio Morales, Bosko Boskovic, Marco Cinotti, Edoardo Melindo, Hunter Nussbaum, Tanner Simpson, Jacob Stahlgren Schmidt, and
Onur Turgut were awarded.

Both programs excelled on the court and in the classroom, with Garoz and Holderbach named ITA All-Americans, both teams finishing top-15 in Division II, and each of the student-athletes named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. Â The men's team earned a third consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament, with the women's team having one of the best seasons in recent history, finishing No. 9 in all of NCAA Division II according to the ITA.

Competing in one of the toughest conferences in the nation, the Florida Southern College tennis teams have continued to improve and invest in their programs. The Wynee Warden Tennis Center has recently undergone improvements to add a team room and space for the teams to relax and avoid the heat. Also announced was FSC receiving the USTA Tennis Venue Service Grant, awarding $31,000 to help resurface all 10 courts at the Tennis Center. All of the support continues to help keep FSC as one of the premier Division II facilities in the country, including help in hosting the ITA South Region Championships in the Fall. Â
