Michael Knoedler posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles to lead the 13th-ranked Moccasins to a 7-2 Sunshine State Conference road win over Saint Leo Wednesday.
The boosted Knoedler's singles record this season to a team-best 11-3, but it also was the 62nd of his FSC career, leaving him just one win away from matching the FSC record of 63 career singles wins held by Alberto Bonfil.
In addition to Knoedler's win at No. 1, the Moccasins picked up wins from Roman Schirmaier at No. 2, Christian Lange at No. 3, Nicolas Bigler at No. 4 and Brian deMontfort at No. 5 after taking two of the three doubles matches.
The Moccasins are now 11-4 overall, 3-2 in the SSC.ÂÂ
Knoedler will get a chance to tie the FSC record for singles wins Apr. 7 when the Moccasins entertain Florida Tech at 3 p.m. on the FSC Courts.
