A 7-5, 6-4 win by Agnese Rozite at No. 2 singles provided the clinching victory, as the 14th-ranked Moccasins topped 17th-ranked Northwood (Mich.) 6-3 Thursday at the FSC Courts.
The Moccasins were leading in the match 4-2 when Rozite posted her win, improving her season record to 14-2. With the win, the Lady Mocs' record goes to 14-2. Northwood, playing only its second match of the spring, dropped to 1-1.
Senka Softic won her match at No. 1 singles, boosting her career win total in singles to 69, three short of the FSC record. She also is 14-2 this season. Softic and Rozite won at No. 1 doubles, giving Softic her 62nd career doubles win, four short of the FSC record, and raising their season record to 14-2.
The Moccasins also had wins from Andrea Arguello at No. 3 singles, improving her singles record to a team-best 15-1, Veronika Kovacikova at No. 4 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Arguello and Kovacikova.
Tuesday the Moccasins play their final Sunshine State Conference match of the season at 3:30 p.m. at ninth-ranked Rollins.
