Box Score A 6-0 loss to Rollins ended the Moccasins' season Sunday at the NCAA South Regional at Tampa.
The Moccasins finished with a record of 41-16, identical to last season's record.
With both teams facing elimination, the Tars (41-18) got a solo homer from Taylor Ferguson in the first inning, added three runs in the fifth and two in the eighth.
Rollins' starting pitcher Chad Giannuzzi, making his first start of the season, pitched seven scoreless innings, scattering five hits, to boost his record to 2-0. Tucker Pryor made the start for the Moccasins and took the loss, dropping his record to 6-2.
The Moccasins' eight hits in the game were all singles - two each by Trae Gore and Wade Kirkland and one each by Tony Mitchell, Kelvin Clark, Andrew Grutka and Braxton Chisholm.
Grutka finished the season as the Moccasins' leading hitter with a .355 average. Gore led the team in hits with 79. Clark and Kirkland shared the home run lead with 12 each, while Kirkland was the RBI leader with 58 and the stolen base leader with 14.
On the pitching staff, Max Russell led the team in wins with 11 and in strikeouts with 109. Gus Schlosser led in innings pitched with 96.1 and complete games with four. Pryor had the top ERA among the starters at 3.38, while Patrick Szczerba had the team's overall best ERA at 1.35. Daniel Tillman led in appearances with 29 and in saves with 13.
