The Moccasins saw their 7-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday at Barry, but look to start a new one Wednesday night when they host Eckerd College at 7:30 p.m. It's the first of two home games for Florida Southern this week, and with classes resuming on Monday, it will also be the first time the Mocs have played in front of the student body in nearly a month.

SERIES HISTORY... Florida Southern has won the last four meetings with Eckerd, though none have been decided by more than eight points. Last year, the Mocs won 70-65 in Lakeland, and 78-74 in overtime in St. Petersburg. The Tritons missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer in the closing seconds in the first one, while the Mocs erased a 7-point deficit in the final 1:20 of regulation in the second one. Overall, the Moccasins are 59-29 against the Tritons in their history, and 5-3 since Linc Darner became head coach in 2006-07.
ABOUT FLORIDA SOUTHERN... Now 10-4 overall, the Moccasins are 2-1 in the Sunshine State Conference following a 77-55 loss at Barry on Saturday that saw them held almost 20 points below their season scoring average. Despite that performance, the Mocs are still the second highest scoring team in the SSC with 82.9 points per game, and still have four players averaging more than 10 points individually. Terry Jenkins and Brandon Jenkins are on top of that list at 15.2 and 13.7 respectively. Terry averaged 19.4 in the Mocs' five games over Christmas break, even counting his seven-point game against Barry. Brandon, meanwhile, has topped 20 points in two of the Mocs' first three SSC games this year. The two brothers are also the top two free throw shooters in the SSC, and along with Rion Rayfield, Andre Hawkins and Brett Bailey, give the team five regulars shooting at least 80 percent from the line. As a team, the Moccasins have a .776 free throw percentage, a figure that currently equals the school record set during the 1981-82 season. The Mocs are also second in the SSC with their .408 percentage from behind the 3-point arc, and have four players shooting at least 38 percent.
ABOUT ECKERD... Eckerd enters the game 11-3 overall and 2-2 in the SSC. The Tritons were ranked No. 23 in the country after defeating Barry on January 2 for its 10th straight win, but since then, they've lost to Tampa and Rollins. They have an earlier conference win over Lynn. Eckerd and Florida Southern share several non-conference opponents too, with both teams defeating North Alabama, Palm Beach Atlantic, UPR-Bayamon and Talladega, and both teams losing to Alabama-Huntsville. Also much like Florida Southern, Eckerd scores just over 80 points per game, has four players scoring in double figures, and is led by a fifth-year senior guard. John Harper has a team-best 14.0 scoring average, leads the SSC in 3-point field goals with 45, and has two 20-point games in conference play. The Tritons' second leading scorer is Wayne Sears, who has started just one game, but averages 11.9 points and shoots 54 percent from the floor. With two post players also averaging around 11 points per game, Eckerd leads the SSC in field goal percentage and blocked shots, and has out-rebounded all but one opponent this year.
