Box Score Flagler scored two unearned runs in the fourth inning to break a 3-3 tie and went on to down the second-ranked Moccasins 5-3 Tuesday night at Henley Field. It was Flagler's second win over the Moccasins in less than a week, the Saint (7-7) won 8-7 last Wednesday night at St. Augustine. The Moccasins dropped to 7-2.
The Moccasins had scoring chances in the late innings, as they had base runners in the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth, but could not score any of them, and left a total of 10 runners stranded in the game.
Kelvin Clark returned to the lineup after missing four games with an injury and had two hits with an RBI. Colin Kish and Tony Mitchell each had a pair of hits.
Anthony Dovale, the second of four Moccasin pitchers, took the loss. Tyler Ward picked up the win for the Saints and Max Rusch earned his second save.
The Moccasins play their annual exhibition game against the Detroit Tigers Friday afternoon at Marchant Stadium at 1 p.m., then head to Pensacola for a three-game weekend series at West Florida Saturday and Sunday.
