Box Score Runs continue to be tough to find for the Moccasins, as they lost to West Florida, 5-1, Sunday at Pensacola.
The Moccasins were able to score just one run in the three games against the sixth-ranked Argonauts, who improved to 13-1 with the series sweep. FSC dropped to 7-5, suffering its fifth straight loss.
Sunday the Moccasins got on the scoreboard first, when Kyle Gibbs scored on an error in the third inning.
West Florida took the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs off Eddie Sipple (1-2), then tacked on three more runs in the eighth for the final margin.
Sipple pitched five innings, giving up three hits and two runs. Daniel Vargas-Villa (3-1) worked seven innings for West Florida to get the win.
The Moccasins had six hits in the game, but no one had more than one.
Next weekend the Moccasins are on the road again, playing a three-game series at Arkansas-Monticello Friday and Saturday.
