Taking advantage of a short-handed Auburn-Montgomery team, the Moccasins were able to post a 5-4 victory over the second-ranked NAIA team Tuesday at the FSC Courts.
UAM had just four players available, which meant they forfeited two singles matches and a doubles match. The Moccasins needed just two wins to claim the match and got them from Sabine Goge at No. 2 singles, who improved her record to 8-1 with a 6-4, 6-3 decision, and from Joalis Dominguez at No. 4 singles, who won 7-6, 7-5.
The win improved the Moccasins' record to 7-2, while UAM slipped to 10-3.
The Moccasins play Adelphi Wednesday, but the match has been shifted from a 3 p.m. start on the FSC Courts to a noon start at Orlando.
