A three-set win by Jorge Gutierrez at No. 3 singles provided the clinching decision for the Moccasins' 6-3 win over Queens College (N.Y.) Tuesday at the FSC Courts.
With the Moccasins leading 4-3, Gutierrez rallied from a first-set loss to Fabio Minami to win the next two sets, 6-4, 6-4 and put the Moccasins ahead 5-3 with just one match remaining.
Vladimir Barabash added a three-set win at No. 6 singles to provide the final margin of victory.
The Moccasins improved to 11-5 with the win. Queens dropped to 4-2.
After playing seven matches in nine days, and winning five of them, the Moccasins are idle until Mar. 30, when they resume Sunshine State Conference action against Saint Leo.
