The rain came before the complete match could be finished, but the Moccasins already had more than enough points and posted a 7-0 Sunshine State Conference win over Eckerd Monday at the FSC Courts.ÂÂ
The No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches were not completed due to the rain.
With the win the Moccasins improved to 2-4 overall, 2-3 in the SSC. Eckerd is 0-5, 0-4 in the SSC.
The No. 1 doubles team of Sabine Goge and Magda Riutort got the match off to a good start, blanking the Tritons' Gipson Hawn and Erika Fridrik, 8-0.
That was followed by two more doubles wins and four singles wins. Riutort improved her team-best singles record to 4-2 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Hawn at No. 2.
The Moccasins will enjoy a seven-day break in the schedule before returning to action Mar. 6 with a home match against Division I Villanova.
