A rain delay of over four hours prolonged the Moccasins' season for a while, but once play began fourth-ranked Lynn ended the Moccasins' season with a 5-0 win at the NCAA South Regional at Boca Raton Saturday.
The match had been scheduled to start at 10 a.m., but didn't get underway until shortly before 2:30 p.m. Lynn claimed all three doubles matches, including an 8-5 win at No. 1 in which the Knights' third-ranked team of Willi Wolfer and Vlad Cirla handed the Moccasins' team of Benoit Paradis and Emanuel Lueber its first loss in nine matches.
Leading 3-0, Lynn (19-3) clinched the match with straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles to advance to Sunday's title match against the Barry/Valdosta State winner.
The Moccasins finish with a record of 13-12. Jorge Gutierrez and Carl Lundberg shared the team lead in singles wins with 14 each. Paradis and Nathan Leavitt each posted 12 singles wins.
