Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

TAMPA - Florida Southern centerfielder Keith Curcio raked in another playing honor late Friday evening as the junior was named to the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings (American Baseball Coaches Association) Division II South Region Golf Glove Team.

It is the fourth consecutive season that the Moccasins have had a South Region Gold Glove Team honoree as senior second baseman Conor Szczerba (Titusville, Fla.) was selected last season, while senior centerfielder J.J. Downum (Land O'Lakes, Fla.) was selected in 2012 and Tyler Benzel and Gus Schlosser were selected in 2011.

Curcio, who is one of four Sunshine State Conference players on the nine-member South Region Gold Team and the only Moccasin named to the team, earns his South Region Gold Glove after posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage as the First-Team All-SSC selection did not commit an error in 118 fielding chances. On the season, he has recorded 112 putouts and had six assists in center field in 51 games.

His fielding percentage has helped the 24th-ranked Moccasins stand tied for third in the SSC in fielding percentage as they enter Saturday's NCAA South Regional Tournament elimination game against Lynn having recorded a .963 fielding percentage. FSC has committed just 73 errors in 1,981 fielding chances in 51 games.

Since arriving on campus in 2012, Curcio, who is a native of Sarasota, Fla., has recorded 205 putouts, had 68 assists and commit nine errors in 282 career fielding chances. He has recorded a .969 fielding percentage in 136 games. Along with leading the Mocs in fielding percentage, Curcio is fourth on the team in batting average (.310) and is fourth in hits (61), has scored a team best 47 runs, has had eight doubles, five triples and has hit five home runs. Additionally, he is 22-for-23 on stolen bases and has driven home 32 runs and has a .407 on base percentage and a .477 slugging percentage.

In addition to Curcio, the other member of the South Region Gold Glove team includes West Florida first baseman Cliff Covington, North Alabama second baseman Josh Carpenter, Alabama-Huntsville third baseman Chase Handley, Florida Tech shortstop Jorge Chavarria, Saint Leo catcher Dale Irving, North Alabama outfielder Jake Ward, Delta State outfielder Jordan Chovanec and Lynn pitcher Daniel Patrick.
