THIRD-RANKED MOCS BEGIN TWO-GAME ROAD SWING WEDNESDAY AT TAMPA
Third-ranked Florida Southern (16-1 overall, 5-1 SSC) is set to continue its span of playing four of its next five games on the road when they travel to Boca Raton, Fla., for a 4 p.m. Sunshine State Conference tilt against 24th-ranked Lynn (12-3 overall, 5-1 SSC) at the de Hoernle Center (1,000) o n the Lynn campus. The game will also be the second of a doubleheader at the de Hoernle Center as the Moccasin women (8-7, 2-4 SSC) face Lynn (7-8, 1-5 SSC) at 2 p.m.

FSC, who is ranked third in this week's eighth regular season NABC/Division II Coaches' Poll, enters Saturday's game looking to extend its win streak to six straight games after posting a come-from-behind 81-75 win on Wednesday at Tampa. The win over Tampa followed FSC's two home wins last week over Eckerd (80-62) and Florida Tech (109-96) and two straight road wins two weeks ago at Saint Leo (71-66) and at Nova Southeastern (77-74). The five wins have came after the Mocs suffered its first loss of the season on Jan. 3 at home in its SSC opener to then 11th-ranked Barry, 107-102. The loss to Barry was FSC's first loss of the season after opening the year by winning its first 11 games and was also its first home setback after winning its first nine home contests of the year.  The loss to Barry to open league play was its first since falling 84-78 at Rollins to open the 2011-12 SSC slate.

With its five straight wins in SSC play, the Mocs have now won six of its last nine conference games dating to last season, including winning five of its last six road SSC games with only loss being a 71-69 setback last season in its final road game at Tampa. FSC comes into this weekend's action sporting a 16-1 overall record and are sitting in tie for second place with Lynn in the SSC standings with a 5-1 record.

SATURDAY'S GAME IS BATTLE FOR SECOND PLACE IN SSC STANDINGS
Saturday's game will be a battle for second place in the SSC standings as Florida Southern and Lynn come into the contest tied for second in the league standings with identical 5-1 records. Both teams are one game behind fourth-ranked Barry in the SSC standings as the Buccaneers, who play at Eckerd on Saturday, are the only undefeated team in SSC play as they are sporting a 6-0 record. If Barry were to lose at Eckerd on Saturday, than the winner of the FSC-Lynn game would move into a tie for first place with Barry in the league standings.

CAPERS BECOMES NO. 2 SCORER IN SCHOOL HISTORY
Moccasin senior guard Kevin Capers is continuing his climb up the school's all-time scoring chart as he enters Saturday's game with Lynn having scored 1,918 points, which is second on the all-time chart as he passed both Kris Kearney (1986-89) and Rion Rayfield (2007-11) on the school's career scoring chart after scoring 19 points in the Mocs 109-96 win last Saturday over Florida Tech.

Through 17 games this season, Capers, who is the second leading active scorer in Division II, has scored 384 points and is averaging 22.6 points per game, which leads the SSC and is 13th nationally in the latest Division II statistics.
