LAKELAND - Florida Southern suffered an 8-1 loss at the hands of No. 9 ranked Lynn Tuesday at the Warden Tennis Complex.
The number one doubles team of Laurent Mailloux and Charles Garneau captured the Mocs only win with an 8-3 decision over Lynn's Pavel Mojha and Mehdi Laalej. The Knight's number two team of Daniel Riggs and Alessio Iannozzi, ranked ninth in the South Region, picked up a 8-2 win over the Mocs' Fabain Lundberg and Derek Bell, while at number three, Lynn's Paolo Volpicelli and Danyan Xu won 8-6 against Arthur Viallaneix and Brian Slivonik.
In singles, Lynn took all six competions including a 6-4, 6-2 win by 11th ranked Riggs over Lundberg. Mailloux fell 6-2, 6-2 to 47th ranked Rivas, while at number three Viallaneix was defeated 6-1, 6-0. At number four, Laalej beat Garneau, 6-2, 6-0, while at number five, Iannozzi topped Blaine Miller 7-5, 6-0. The singles matches wrapped up with an 8-4 win by Volpicelli over Slivonik.
Florida Southern will play its final home match of the season Wednesday at 3 pm against Webber International at the Warden Tennis Center.
