Mocs Sweep Panthers on Saturday

Box Score

LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College volleyball turned in a dominant performance in a 3-0 sweep of visiting Florida Tech on Saturday at Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins (14-5, 6-2 SSC) won by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-18 to move to 8-1 at home on the season and pick up their 15th-straight home victory against the Panthers (5-13, 0-7).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Florida Tech took an early lead in the first set, and it looked as if the Mocs may have a tough battle on their hands. The Panthers raced out to a 5-1 lead, but Florida Southern ripped off an 8-0 run later in the set to grab a 13-8 lead, and would never trail again en route to a 25-20 first-set win.
• After the Panthers scored the first point of the second set, FSC reeled off seven points in a row to force a Florida Tech timeout. The Mocs would maintain their advantage throughout, never leading by less than four points as they put the Panthers in a 2-0 hole.
• The third and final set was dominated by Florida Southern, which grabbed an early 8-1 lead and never looked back. Florida Tech was able to close the gap to five points (21-16), but three-straight attack errors by the Panthers ended the match as the Moccasins took a 25-18 third-set win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Mocs moved to 483-119 all-time at Jenkins Field House. Florida Southern is 8-1 at home this season, and has won 24 of the 32 sets it has played at Jenkins Field House.
• Anna Tovo finished the day with a match-high 18 kills. She was the only player for either side to hit double-digits in kills. Tovo has tallied 10 or more kills in 32-straight matches dating back to last year.
• Brindl Langley tallied 14 digs in the match to push her career total to 1,639. In the process, she moved into fourth place in school history in career digs.
