LAKELAND – Linnea Skymberg defeated Sabrina Kierberg, 6-1, 6-0, at number one singles for 40th-ranked Florida Southern's lone victory in an 8-1 Sunshine State Conference loss to seventh-ranked Nova Southeastern here Saturday at the Warden Tennis Complex.
Nova Southeastern (13-1 and 5-0 in the SSC) swept doubles starting with an 8-1 win by Linda Kornienko and Irina Constantinide over the Moccasins duo of Cassie Eldredge and Lorena Rionda at number two. Nastassia Rubel and Carlee Rizzolo posted an 8-4 win vs. Natalija Popovic and Nina Vucevic at number three while the 24th-ranked team of Sabrina Kierberg and Petra Jurova defeated Selin Devrimci and Skymberg at number one doubles.

The Sharks opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory by Rizzolo over Carolyn Cureton at number four while Constantinide clinched the match for Nova Southeastern with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Katie Stanford at number five.
Skymberg then recorded her win at number five for the Moccasins' sole point.
NSU's Kornienko won by a 6-2, 6-1 score over Eldredge at number six and Rubel beat Devrimci, 6-2, 6-4, at number three. Jurova, the nation's 27th ranked singles played in the NCAA Division II, then completed the Sharks win with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number two singles over Rionda.
Florida Southern plays next on Wednesday on the road at Saint Leo for a 3 p.m. match against the Lions.
