LAKELAND, FL - A sweep of singles flights helped Florida Southern College women's tennis overcome an early doubles points loss to defeat Palm Beach Atlantic, 6-1. The No. 9 Moccasins (5-0, 2-0) earned three 6-0 sets in single flights to clinch the win over the Sailfish (0-3, 0-2) after losing a hotly contested doubles point in the No. 3 flight.
The Mocs improved to 20-5 in all singles competition for the season while Lola Asis continued to play perfect in the No. 6 singles flight, improving to 4-0 in that slot. No. 50 Lorena Rionda and Magda Stepnik also remained undefeated in singles play and improved to 3-0 and 4-0, respectively, with Stepnik earning her first win playing in the No. 3 singles flight.
